Bubble
A bubble (sometimes called a popup bubble) is a small window that appears over selected content on a webpage when you want more information about something you're reading.
Features
The bubble provides instant access to information right where you need it. No more switching between tabs or copying and pasting text into search engines – everything you need appears in a sleek overlay exactly where you're reading.
Bubble Size
Control how much space the bubble occupies on your screen. Make it larger for detailed information or smaller for a more discreet experience.
Activation Triggers
Customize how bubbles appear. Choose between clicking on text, double-clicking over words, using keyboard shortcuts, and right-click menu.
Activation Behavior
Create site-specific rules that determine whether the bubble should appear on them.
Closing the Bubble
You can close the bubble in several ways:
- Click anywhere outside the bubble
- Press the
Esc
key on your keyboard - Click the X button in the top-right corner of the bubble (only available in floating mode)
Bubble vs Extension Window
Since both the Popup Bubble and the Extension Window are "popping up" in some way, it's easy to confuse them. However, they serve different purposes and have different functionalities:
Bubble | Extension Window |
---|---|
Appears over text highlighted with the mouse | Opens from the browser toolbar |
Designed for quick, contextual lookups on select | Lets you type your query directly |
Floats above your content | Fixed position in your browser |
Focused on delivering immediate information | Offers quick customization and management |
