Search Query

Definer normally searches exactly what you've selected, but you can create custom search patterns for more relevant results.

For example, if you're a Minecraft enthusiast (and who isn't these days?), you might want every search to be Minecraft-related. The Search Query field uses Liquid Template Language to create dynamic queries like:

liquid
What is {{str}} in Minecraft

minecraft-settings.avif

With this configuration, selecting the word "oak" would automatically search for "What is oak in Minecraft" – giving you exactly the context you need and delivering more relevant results.

This customization feature is particularly useful for researchers, students, or anyone who frequently searches within specific contexts or domains.

Troubleshooting

CAPTCHA in Firefox

If you're constantly being asked to solve CAPTCHA puzzles while browsing in Firefox, the likely cause is your browser's Enhanced Tracking Protection feature. Although this feature helps protect your privacy, it can sometimes make websites think you're a bot.

To solve this problem, follow this troubleshooting guide for Firefox, which explains how to disable or adjust Enhanced Tracking Protection. This simple change will typically reduce the number of CAPTCHAs you encounter while still maintaining reasonable privacy protections.
